COACHING CHANGES IN MFC FOR 2022/23 SEASON

Several coaching changes have been made prior to the start of the 2022/23 Mothsepe Foundation Championship (NFD). 

Sinethemba Badela has been appointed as the coach of All Stars FC (formelry CT All Stars) in the place of Alan Freeze. The Cape team who finished 3rd last season in the Glad Africa Championship have also relocated  to Johannesburg.                       

MOTSEPE FOUNDATION NEW NFD SPONSOR

Friday 01 July 2022 saw a new dawn in the First Division of South African football after the GladAfrica Group announced that they were unable to continue with their commitment of sponsoring the NFD for the final two years of their initial five year sponsor agreement with the PSL. 

Well known and highly regarded South African businessman Patrice Motsepe has stepped in to sponsor the NFD for the next five years. The NFD will now be known as the MOTSEPE FOUNDATION CHAMPIONSHIP. The proposed start of the 2022/23 season is set for 20 August 2022.

ABC MOTSEPE LEAGUE PLAYOFFS 2022

The playoffs for teams from the ABC Motsepe League will start today Tuesday 14 June 2022 at the University of The NorthWest, Potchefstroom. The Patrice Motsepe Foundation has funded the ABC Motsepe League since 2014 and by the end of this week a ninth pair of clubs from South Africa's amateur ranks will be promoted to the GladAfrcia Championship for next season.

GAC NEDBANK CUP SEMI-FINAL DATES, VENUES AND KICKOFF TIMES

The draw for the Semi-Finals of the 2021/22 Nedbank Cup was held recently.

Dates, Venues and Kickoff times for the team from the GAC is as follows :

GLADAFRICA GROUP CONGRATULATES CHAMPIONS

In their third season of a five-year partnership agreement with the Premier Soccer League as title sponsor of the second-tier professional football league in South Africa, The GladAfrica Group offers their congratulations to Richards Bay FC for winning the GladAfrica Championship title in the 2021/22 season and promotion to the DSTV Premiership. 

 

 

GAC NEDBANK CUP QUARTERFINALS - Dates, Venus and Kickoff Times

The dates, times and venues for the 2020/21 Nedbank Cup quarterfinals for GladAfrica Championship teams have been announced by the PSL.

TS GALAXY CREATE NEDBANK CUP HISTORY

National First Division outfit TS Galaxy caused not only a major upset on Saturday in beating Premier League side Kaizer Chiefs 1 - 0 in the Nedbank Cup, but by doing so became the first club from the lower ranks of south African football to win the "Cup of Dreams". Thabiso Kutumela's late penalty enough for the win.
