NFD 2018/19 - WEEK 10 PREVIEW

TSHAKHUMA TSHA MADZIVHANDILA vs WITBANK SPURS

A win for TTM FC and any stumble from Stellenbosch FC and the Limpopo side could be at the top of the table by Saturday evening. TTM FC are unbeaten at home having dropped points only once and hat was a draw against Cosmos a month ago. Spurs have won 1 and drawn 1 under their new coach Sammy Troughton, but this could be his toughest test so far. Last season this match ended 2 – 2.

UNIVERSITY of PRETORIA vs STELLENBOSCH FC

Tuks coach Vellios waits for the arrival of his mentor Steve Barker and table topping Stellenbosch FC on Saturday in the Cape sides 3rd top of the table clash in 3 weeks. Tuks have never beaten the Cape side in Pretoria and a win for the home side could have Tuks on top of the log come Saturday evening.

TS SPORTING vs CAPE UMOYA UNITED

One side newly promoted to the NFD meets a side that was relegated from the PSL on Saturday. Former logleaders Sporting have not scored a goal in their last two outings and have only picked up 1 point, slipping to 6th on the log. The situation for the Cape is more serious, as Cape Umoya have lost their last three matches and are yet to win on the road this season. This will be the first meeting between the two sides.

AJAX CAPE TOWN vs REAL KINGS

Ajax CT will be hoping to get their season back on track on Saturday against Real Kings after dropping points against both Ubuntu and Uthongathi over the past two weeks. Kings themselves have seen a change in fortune and although the KZN are still in the relegation zone they are unbeaten in the last three outings having won two and drawn one match. This will be the first meeting between the two sides.

UTHONGATHI FC vs MBOMBELA UNITED FC

Uthongathi will look to build on their recent success over Ajax when they meet Mbombela on Saturday. It might not be as easy as that though, because the Mpumalanga side also had a good victory, beating Cosmos 2 – 0 at home. Mbombela have yet to win on the road this season and lost this match 0 – 1 last season.

ROYAL EAGLES vs MACCABI FC

A tremendous win in the Cape over the former Platinum Stars has pushed Royal Eagles up two spots on the log to 9th with only one loss in the last seven matches. Visiting Maccabi were top of the log after week one, but are now 12th after a string of poor results. The ABC Motsepe League Champions have yet to win on the road this season. This will be the first meeting between the two sides.

JOMO COSMOS vs UBUNTU CT FC

Cosmos will look to bounce back to winning ways after their loss against Mbombela last week that saw the Vosloorus side drop to 8th on the log. The Cape side are yet to win this season and will play their 9th match out of 10 away from home this season. Rather strange. New coach Vladislav Heric has a massive task on his hands to turn the Ubuntu ship around. The Cape side have been in the relegation zone since the start of the season and have only accumulated two points – 7 points away from getting out of the relegation zone. Cosmos lost on penalties to Ubuntu in the Nedbank cup at home last season.

RICHARDS BAY FC vs TS GALAXY

TS Galaxy will travel to Richards Bay in upbeat mood after their win last week against Maccabi at home and while the home side have won only once in their last six outings, they are unbeaten in front of their fans this season. Richards Bay FC were top of the table after week two, but have dropped to 10th on the log after their recent poor run. This will be the first meeting between the two sides.
